A suitable external drain should be located within 15 meters of the designated parking area for the portable kitchen pod. Two electrical outlets and an outdoor water tap are required within 25 meters. If a drain is not available, a removable waste caddy can be provided, which must be emptied on a daily basis.
A minimum area of 4 meters in length and 2 meters in width is required to position the pod. Before confirming your booking, we will need photos of your driveway or chosen installation area, as well as the available water and drainage outlets. If you are located nearby, we can arrange a site visit prior to delivery. Please note that the pod cannot be placed on a public road.
Essential Spaces
We collaborate with you to place the kitchen pod in the best location for your home and renovation. Before installation, we carry out a thorough risk assessment for safety.
On arrival, we install pipework to direct wastewater from your pod to a nearby grey water drain. A close drain is best, but proper slope allows safe flow over short distances.
We connect a food-grade hygiene hose from your outdoor tap to the pod, up to a distance of 25 metres. Although mains tap water is generally safe, we further filter it for drinking, cooking, and cleaning.
The pod is powered by two 13-amp cables, which plug into a standard ring main at your property. The power connection simply needs to be within 25 metres of the pod.
The kitchen includes a gas oven for efficient cooking. Our installers ensure it is properly connected, fully functional, and safely positioned in accordance with all relevant safety guidelines.
Each pod is fitted with an RCD (Residual Current Device) circuit board for enhanced safety, and the connecting cables to your property are also protected by an RCD plug for additional security.
Each pod is set up with all the kitchen essentials you need for easy, everyday living. Whether you’re putting together a quick bite or relaxing in for the evening, everything is close at hand—from a microwave and fridge to a kettle and hob. Our pods are designed to be fully self-contained, giving you the freedom to live comfortably and independently during your renovation
We include a gas bottle with the hire, and a spare bottle is always provided in case the first one runs out. For longer hire periods, if the spare bottle is also used, we have an account with Calor Gas and can arrange delivery and installation of a replacement bottle at your home.
Utensils are also included with the hire should you wish to use them. These include pots, pans, plates, cups, and cutlery - everything you need to start cooking from the pod. If you do not require these and prefer to use your own, this can be stated on the booking form
We’re located in Lincolnshire but proudly serve customers throughout the UK. Free delivery is included within our local area. For addresses beyond that, a delivery charge may apply. All pricing is based on location and the duration of hire
